Terms of service

Simple expectations for using Specula.

These terms set expectations for using Specula, protecting workspace data, and reviewing AI-supported recommendations. They are written in plain language for trial and launch customers, but should be reviewed by counsel before broad commercial rollout. Effective date: June 12, 2026.

Launch offer access

Unless a different written agreement applies, launch offer access starts with 30 days free, followed by 60 days at $199/month, then regular selected-plan billing.

Customer responsibility

Customers are responsible for the accuracy of uploaded files, account access decisions, and business decisions made from information shown in the app.

Customer data

Customers keep ownership of the business data they provide. Specula may process that data only to operate the service, provide support, improve reliability, and deliver requested scan or dashboard features.

Acceptable use

Do not upload unlawful data, customer data you are not allowed to share, payment card numbers, medical data, Social Security numbers, or credentials. Do not attempt to access another workspace or misuse the service.

AI recommendations

AI insights are decision support, not professional financial, legal, tax, or operational advice. Owners should review recommendations before acting.

Confidential platform methods

The service includes confidential workflows, prompts, scoring, data processing methods, automation logic, and product designs. Customers receive the right to use the service, not ownership of Specula's underlying methods or intellectual property.

Billing approval

A payment method may be collected at signup. Card details are handled by the payment processor, and renewal pricing should be shown before payment details are saved.

Account standards

Careful use protects every workspace

Specula works best when account access is controlled, uploaded data is accurate, and AI recommendations are reviewed before business decisions are made.

Keep account credentials private and remove access when a teammate no longer needs it.

Use accurate source data so dashboards and recommendations reflect the real business.

Only upload records your business is allowed to share with Specula.

Keep change logs, audit logs, and team access visible for trust and accountability.

Do not copy, reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or expose Specula's private workflows, prompts, scoring methods, or product designs.

Use AI-supported output as decision support, then apply owner judgment before acting.
